I was approaching 54th Ave North. For some reason, my glasses stayed along side the car, just gliding along the street. Then I panicked. It occurred to me that I was driving a 4000 pound car at high speed, almost naked, laying on the hood with a rug, completely out of control but strangely in control, and oh yes - practically blind too.
I knew that disaster was likely. I decided that the most pressing problem was my glasses. I knew they would keep following along side the car but were way out of reach. I made the decision to LEAP OFF THE CAR, grab my glasses (I should add that the glasses were following me, not the car). I snatched my glasses and put them on but my beautiful car was WAY down the road by Kanes Furniture. I ran after it, taking longer and longer strides, running faster and faster to catch up.
